“Outside, the sky was clear, stars gleaming in its ebony vastness like celestial fireflies. It was bitterly cold, and Hywel’s every breath trailed after him in pale puffs of smoke. The glazed snow crackled underfoot as he started towards the great hall.” – Sharon Kay Penman

I do know a bit about cold having had parents who lived in Canada, but I can’t believe how cold I feel this morning when the temperature’s only just above freezing! It’s often a damp kind of cold over here though, that feels like it seeps into your bones……
Hi Chrissie! Dry cold is my favorite – like there is in many places in the American southwest. It was bitterly cold here in Pennsylvania yesterday and the snow was very dry and powdery. Easy to sweep with a broom. :^) Stay warm and have a relaxed and very pleasant rest of your weekend!
Happy New Year, all the best for you and the desert lovers and flowers.
Thank you so very much. Have a healthy and abundant New Year!
